Nippon Massage is Kinematic Massage, a fusion of Shiatsu and Anma.
Shiatsu is a manual therapy applied by leaning forward in a relaxed manner with the weight of one’s body to an optimum point, and the correct use of fingers, palms, etc., in order to apply sustained, stationary pressure on different parts of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body, and for maintaining and promoting health. It is a holistic
therapy that aims to treat most of the body in each session.
Anma therapy is a traditional style of Japanese massage, one of touch and manual therapies, and one of the most popular CAM therapies in Japan. It was brought from China in the 6th century and, while based on the theory of Chinese medicine, it developed in Japan according to Japanese preference and has recently come to include theories of Western medicine.
You might feel comfortable pain during a session and then feel relax or improve your issue after the session.
Notes:Shiatsu and acupressure are often used in the literature interchangeably. However, there are several key technical differences between the two, including the type of pressure applied, the way in which the thumb is positioned, and the way in which body weight is used.
