Chief Complaint

Right shoulder pain

Patient

55-year-old male, Accountant

Current History

Several months ago, the patient developed the pain without any specific trigger. He visited an orthopedic surgeon and received physical therapy, but the effect was temporary. He then underwent chiropractic treatment, but without effect. His hobby of badminton was discontinued at the same time due to pain. When gardening, the pain was aggravated by pulling or carrying objects.

Assessment

Based on the results of interview and physical and neurological examination, it was determined that the pain was caused by the long head tendon of the right biceps brachii.

Treatment

NIPPON MASSAGE was performed with the goal of eliciting normal joint motion of the scapulothoracic and glenohumeral joints.

Outcome

This treatment was performed once every two weeks, and by the end of the third session, the patient had recovered to the point of feeling almost no pain. Furthermore, after the fourth treatment, the patient recovered to the point where he was able to resume his hobby of exercise.
